For 15 units

For potatoes balls:

  • 1 kg red potatoes boiled in water with a bit of salt to soften full freshly peeled and crushed
  • 1 tsp black mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon whole cumin seeds
  • 5 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 hot peppers, well chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of finely chopped ginger
  • 5 fresh curries leaves (available in stores in spices stores)
  • Teaspoon of turmeric
  • A bunch of chopped cilantro
  • Salt to taste
  • Chickpea flour in batter:
  • 1 cup chickpea flour (found in markets and shops of Indian spices)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • Water as a needed

How to prepare Tasty Potatoes Balls

1. Heat oil in a skillet and fry the mustard seeds and cumin till that browned; add curry leaves, ginger, garlic and peppers and saute well.

2. To cook turmeric, bit of salt and add chopped cilantro.

3. Mix the spice mixture to mashed potatoes and form the patties like balls, round and medium.

4. Preparing beaten chickpea flour: Mix the material mixture and add water (a little at a time) until smooth and light.

5. Drizzling the balls of potatoes in batter and deep fry hot until golden color.
