- few carrots
- A small swede
- Small piece of cured bacon
- Cut up the meat into small pieces;
- place in a saucepan with less cold water than you would use for soup;
- simmer for about one hour before adding carrots, onions, swede (all cut up small);
- continue to simmer for about ½ hour.
- Finally, add potatoes (cut up) and seasoning.
This dish must be cooked slowly, and not allowed to get too dry. Serve very hot with pieces of bread.
